DIY Smoothie Bowl Bar // Superfood Haul + Organization

Hi friends! I’ve got an exciting DIY to share with you all today! Smoothie bowls are my JAM and I am completely obsessed with them. Ever since quarantine started, I have been having a blast in the kitchen creating new recipes, many of which are smoothie bowl recipes! This DIY project is so fun and is an easy way to create the at-home smoothie bowl bar of your dreams. So, if you are interested in learning how to design your own at-home smoothie bowl bar, just keep reading!

Check out this Tik Tok I made, where I show the smoothie bowl bar coming to life step-by-step!

The Storage Organizer

So, first things first, I needed a shelving/storage system to make my vision come to life. I did some browsing on Amazon and found a lot of great potential. I decided to go with this 4-Tier Bamboo Storage Organizer and LOVE it!!! It was only $38.99 and seemed to be the perfect size/fit for how I wanted to use it. When it arrived, it came inside of a huge box and I was like, “Uh oh… I did not expect this thing to be so gigantic!!” However, the box was about a foot larger than the actual organizer itself, and it was actually the right item/size (just a heads up in case you order it and think you got sent the wrong item or overlooked the dimensions haha).

The assembly was super easy and only took about 20 minutes, including the extra time it took to record and take pictures. It was a very easy set-up and came with all of the necessary instructions and tools for assembly. One of the great things about this organizer is that the shelves are adjustable, so you can change them around to fit your products perfectly! It is great quality, very sturdy, and has such a clean, classy look to it!

The Superfood Haul

One of the most exciting parts of this process was going grocery shopping and stocking back up on my favorite superfoods!! (#adulting) This isn’t an exclusive list, but includes the superfoods that I love to use most often for my bowls:

Trader Joe’s Shopping List
- Cacao powder
- Hemp seeds
- Coconut chips
- Shredded coconut
- Peanut butter protein granola
- Muesli
- Flax seeds

Whole Foods Shopping List

- Coconut water
- Peanut butter
- Vanilla almond butter
- Honey
- Cacao nibs
- Frozen acai
- Freeze dried raspberries
- Maca powder
- Pumpkin seeds

Additional superfoods that I was already stocked up on at home include beet powder, moringa powder, super greens powder, honey hemp granola, quinoa cacao granola, chia seeds, honey, MCT oil, and collagen powder.

The Labeling System

Next up - time to organize the superfoods! I used this Dymo Embossing Label Maker from Amazon and absolutely love the look of the labels! I kept going back and forth on whether I wanted to use white hand-lettered labels with a clear background or these embossed labels with a dark background. I decided on this style because I think the white letters on the black background truly make the look “pop!” The label maker came with three rolls of tape (black, red, and green). I ordered an extra 3-pack of black label tape, but only used about half of the original black roll it came with to make all of the labels here. I used these small, round jars with a latch for the powders and these plain, 16-ounce mason jars for the rest.

The Final Product!!

Lastly, time to put it all together for the finished product! On the bottom shelf of the organizer, I added my collagen powder, MCT oil, peanut butter, vanilla almond butter, honey, and a mason jar filled with these stainless steel reusable straws from Amazon. I arranged my blender next to the organizer, along with a 2-tier stand and 2-tier basket for the room temperature fruit I love to use for my smoothie bowls, both of which are from Michael’s. The fruits pictured are an avocado, a pear, apples, bananas, mangoes, a pineapple, lemons, and oranges. In addition to these fruits, I love adding some combination of leafy greens (usually spinach or kale), cauliflower, mixed berries, pineapple, mango, and acai (all of which are normally frozen).

And there we have it - all finished!! I am so excited about this smoothie bowl bar and love the way it turned out! Making my daily smoothie bowl is so much easier now with having most of the smoothie ingredients and all of the toppings in one place that is cute, fun, and extra organized!
